Laboratory Experiments
In order to participate in experiments conducted by researchers of the Faculty of Economics at Purdue University, you should register online (http://orsee.krannert.purdue.edu).
Note that signing up for an experiment commits you to attend the experiment, to arrive ON TIME for the experiment, and to be available the entire duration of the experiment (i.e., you cannot arrive late or leave early).
If you realize, after you have signed up, that you are unable to make it, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can find a replacement.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that you use your legal name when signing up for experiments. If we believe that you may not be using your legal name, you will be asked to provide your student ID when you arrive at the experiment to prove your identity. If you misrepresent yourself in any way, you will not be allowed to participate in any experiments and further actions may be taken. We take this policy very seriously.
Experiment Rules
For each experiment, a certain number of registered participants will get an invitation email.
If you get an email that invites you to participate in a particular experiment, follow the instructions and go to the website if you would like to sign up.
For all economics experiments, you will be paid in cash immediately following the experiment.
During an experiment, we ask you to follow the rules described to you by the experimenter. If you are disruptive, the experimenter reserves the right to ask you to leave immediately. In this case, you will not be paid.
If all participants who signed up do not show up for the experiment, the experiment may be cancelled. This is why it is very important to attend your scheduled session.
Privacy policy
Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. We will never sell your e-mail address or other personally identifiable information to third parties, or make that information publicly available without your permission.
We may contact you to inform you of opportunities to participate in experiments. You may opt out of receiving e-mail from us by updating the settings in your account profile.
Data from the experiment are collected using randomly assigned identification numbers, so individual subject choices can never be identified. The data will be stored indefinitely on a secure location on campus in a faculty member or graduate student computer. Your name, student identification number and address may be provided to the business office of Purdue University for the purpose of facilitating my payment for participating in this study. You will need to complete a Participant Payment Disclosure Form in order to be paid. Because the experiment is in a group, other subjects will know that you participated. The project's research records may be reviewed by the funding agency and by departments at Purdue University responsible for regulatory and research oversight.
Changes to policy
We may occasionally update our Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices. If we make material changes in the way we collect, use, or share your personal information, we will notify you and/or prominently post notices of the changes on our website.
Do you agree with the rules outlined above?
